REGULATION 4 VAC 20-1130-10 Et Seq.. and Section 28.2-603.2 of the Code of Virginia provide an opportunity for public comment on proposals to place protective shellfish enclosures on leased ground.  The following notices are posted by date; the comment period for each notice is as is specified below for each individual siting notice.   Please check with The Fisheries Division at (757) 247-2248 to verify when a specific comment period ends.  

Note: notices below this point are beyond the comment period and are provided only as a reference of shellfish enclosure siting activity. Comments will not be accepted on the notices below.

August 3, 2008: 
George B. DeMarco of Mathews has notified the Virginia Marine Resources Commission of his intent to place up to 500 protective aquaculture enclosures for culturing oysters on 10 acres of leased ground in Mobjack Bay.
